Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an international religious formation program that has been in existence for over 40 years. Holy Angels offers the program for Level I, which is for children ages 3-6. It is Montessori based in method of instruction. The Good Shepherd Program is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in the “Atrium,” a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use for learning and growing. The Program runs from mid-September until Pentecost, which is usually in May.

A Sunday session is 1 and ½ hours long, from 10:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. This allows parents to attend the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Liturgy while your child is attending the Good Shepherd Program.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd also as Level 2 for children in primary grades and Level 3 for children in grades 4-6.  This is the Religious Education program for children in grades 1-6 who attend the public school.
